Legends tell that a snow-white Antleridot has a natural ability to evade capture and that many hunters pursued it - not in the hopes of capturing it, but for the thrill of the chase, often leading them to new adventures.

Biology

Antleridot is a quadrupedal Normal/Crystal-Type mammalian Pokémon resembling a deer. It has a reddish-brown coat with a light cream chest ruff, neck mane and underside, with several cream spots along their body. Both males and females sports a pair of large, crystalline antlers, usually of a greenish hue similar to that of peridot or jade. Like their previous form, these antlers sport a pair of dark orbs. A third dark orb grows at the center of a plate protecting Antleridot's head. Antleridot can use its antlers in the same manner its predecessor does, though their increased complexity and refractive qualities allow for a greater variety of distortions, capable of forming altered zones of reality such as Trick Room, Wonder Room and Magic Room, among other area effects. These antlers are periodically shed and shortly after become brittle and collapse into a fine mineral dust that has been known to improve the quality of soil. Shed antlers are occasionally gathered and allowed to collapse for use as fertilizer or chemically treated and fixed as raw material for a variety of purposes.

Antleridot and Stantler seem to have a set migration path in the region of Miato, with two population centers centered around Quartz Forest and the Northern Tundra. The latter is the larger center of population, where the largest herds roam, feeding primarily on lichens and fungi. It is there that the young Stantler are born and grow to a certain age. Periodically, there is a mass migration of Stantler to Quartz Forest led by a few Antleridot who know the way and serve as guides. These migrations seem to follow a specific path down through the highlands and into the forest, congregating towards its center, where the great crystal at the center of the forest triggers their evolution. They linger in the forest for a while and then proceed to migrate back into the Northern Tundra via Azure Valley.

Name Meaning

A combination of 'antler' and 'peridot'.

Origin of Design

Antleridot is based on various cervid species such as caribou, elk and the extinct Irish Elk, or megaloceros. Its alternate color scheme and flavor text refers to mythology centering around white stags.

Locations

Wild Antleridot can be first encountered (rarely) in Quartz Forest's deeper parts, and are more common in the Northern Tundra.
