Cyan is a Pokémon Trainer that the Jade Town Trainers encounter during their travels.

Appearance and Personality

Cyan is a very androgynous looking individual in both appearance and voice. Their skin is pale, their eyes are a light, ice-blue color and their hair is a vivid sky blue and long, worn down. Often wearing a loose-fitting silvery-blue cloak with a bit of a reflective sheen and a deep blue scarf with a lighter blue wavy motif, they may seem a bit out of place - or out of time - to the average onlooker. Cyan, however, is certainly more dedicated to their chosen aesthetic than they are to particularly caring what others may think of it. Like their two counterparts, they wear a bracelet on their left hand, though it is not as apparent as the others' due to the cloak's long sleeves.

Often, they are accompanied in their journeys by their first Pokémon and closest companion - a male Jawsea (later Sharclaw and Riptide) nicknamed Arlyn.

Cyan is soft spoken, polite, and a complete mystery. While their counterparts are dedicated to competition and enjoyment of life - Cyan is one for travel and quiet contemplation. They make their way through life around adversity rather than through it, allowing such to slide off of them like water off a duck's back - it takes a lot to ruffle Cyan's feathers, so to speak, and their sense of inner peace and clarity may sometimes be mistaken for a lack of self-awareness or aloofness.

In battle, their inner peace and clarity provides them with a great deal of focus - and have an elegant, but fierce battle style heavily based around flow and adaptability

As a trainer

One of three 'Mystery Trainers' which may be encountered in the course of an adventure, Cyan will appear in an adventure of trainers who have started their journey with Anoleaf. Trainers who started with one of the other starters will encounter either Mint or Aidan, depending on their starter choice.

The trainer would encounter Cyan at various locations (out of a specific list), which they would cycle between along the course of the adventure. They and their team can be challenged there for assorted items, once per instance.

With the exception of the first encounter - which is always in the same place, these battles are optional. The team used by Cyan varies based on your team members' average levels, though as the game progresses, it can only rise. If you've already fought their Level 50+ team, for example, your next encounter with them will have either that team or higher, not lower.
