Galena Town is a town located in the northern landmass of the Miato Region.

Description

Though the Northern Tundra of Miato is mostly left to its own devices due to its hostile climate and wild, dangerous Pokémon - there are still those who wish to explore it and to mount expeditions into the wilds.

Galena Town was established as somewhat of a research outpost and home away from home for exactly that type of utter lunatics.

Nestled at the northernmost point of Northern Miato, on the shores of an ice-floe covered sea, Galena is a small town, for the most part quite grey and dreary looking to an outside onlooker (particularly in the winter seasons where snow cover tends to be more prominent). It is, nonetheless, a typically warm and welcoming sanctuary from the harsh wilderness around it - and a fine place to replenish one's strength and supplies before venturing out into the wilds again.

The Jade Town Trainers shall encounter Robyn here through the course of their adventure - where she will provide them with an indispensable device for exploring wilder areas where standard navigation equipment may not suffice - and with some local scientists who will provide them with the first key required for unlocking the mystery of the Guardians.

Amarante Laboratory Complex

A couple of prominent researchers have made their home in Galena Town, and their laboratory complex is nearly as famous as that of Jade Town (though less frequently visited by travelers due to its inhospitable location). Here, Professor Eva Amarante conducts her research on the ancient civilization of Miato - establishing her presence here due to proximity to the speculated floating grounds of the Northern Guardian. Her husband, Professor Piotr Amarante, conducts his research into paleobiology and genetics here as well, no doubt due to the presence of atypical fossils in the area. Thanks to sophisticated cloning equipment he has set up in the laboratory complex, he is capable of restoring long-extinct Pokémon from fossils, should a trainer provide him with such.
