Lyn is a new Pokémon Trainer, rival to the Jade Town Trainers

Appearance and Personality

A tall, slender girl, roughly 15 or 16 years of age. She is somewhat pale of complexion (something that her tendency to dress primarily in black somewhat emphasizes), with teal eyes and dark brown hair which she wears slightly over shoulder-length (with the exception of some particularly long tendrils).

Lyn generally speaks little and tends to be cold, aloof and analytical towards other people - often thinking of them as people who want something from her and nothing else. This may be due to her upbringing - she is the heir to a rich family that has always been very demanding and pressuring towards her, attempting to mold the girl to what they wanted and expected her to be. She resents them for that - and in fact travels alone to escape them and their demands. In spite of their unhappiness with her chosen lifestyle, they chose not to attempt to stop her - probably in the belief that she needs to make her own mistakes and that sooner or later she will give up this 'rebellious phase' and come back to do what's 'in her best interests as a young lady of her position'. She is determined to prove them wrong and show them she can do just fine on her own right.

In sharp contrast to her behaviour towards people stands her behaviour towards her Pokémon. She cares deeply about her Pokémon and trusts them with her life. She feels that around her Pokémon, she doesn't need to pretend - and it is important for her that her Pokémon see her and accept her as she truly is. Part of her motivation for becoming the best trainer she could ever be is for the sake of her Pokémon.

As a trainer

Lyn is fiercely intelligent and emphasizes strategy over strength. In the fine tradition of rival characters, she chooses the starter Pokémon that has a type advantage against what the player chooses. The rest of her team also varies by the starter she chose.
