Route 9
Sapphire City

Route 9 is a route in Miato, connecting Opal Town and Sapphire City.

Route Description

Route 9 follows the path of the Beryl River and is lush and rich in vegetation, though the Jeweled Desert is never too far away, looming ominously if one is to look away from the river - or further across the river to the insulated patch of the Jeweled Desert known as the Aquamarine Sands.

Eventually, the Beryl River begins to split into branches, marking the point where the river valley becomes a river delta. One such branch intersects the path of Route 9. Here, a mighty bridge - the Beryl Crossing - stood since ancient times and continues to stand, maintained and enhanced by modern technology. Crossing the bridge and continuing to follow the road that connects to it leads one to the oldest and one of the most impressive cities of the region, Sapphire City.

Wild Pokémon

Perhaps one of the more breathtaking sights one may see along this route are Amphibis emerging from within the river and taking to the sky. The river's currents are rapid and treacherous, but Water-types adapted to these conditions may be found in and around the water - and the greenery sometimes draws creatures living nearby - and others still who may prey on them.
