Biology
Falancholy is a quadrupedal mammalian Psychic/Ghost-Type Pokémon with a body plan resembling a cross of a feline and an ungulate. Its body is covered with rather short dark fur, light markings around its muzzle, eye, forehead and underside. A pair of curved horns featuring small hooks adorn its head. The most curious thing about Falancholy, though, is a trail of what almost looks like shifting living shadow emanating from its body, forming a mane on its neck and back, and also projecting from its tail, shoulders, feet and the sides of its head.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'fall' and 'melancholy'.
Origin of Design
Falancholy - like its pre-evolution and its alternate evolutions - is based on a combination of ungulate and feline traits. Falancholy's feline traits are largely derived from assorted melanistic Panthers, while its ungulate elements are drawn primarily from the Sable antelope, though the hooks on its horns resemble those of a pronghorn.
Locations
Falancholy cannot be found in the wild.
