Once a Gasplode attaches itself to a surface, removing it by force becomes practically impossible. If attempts to do so persist, it may powerfully explode.

Biology
Gasplode is a Steel/Normal-Type mollusk Pokémon resembling a limpet. It has a power muscular 'foot' with two eyes on stalks and two sensory tentacles in the front of its body. The foot is protected by a metallic, mostly-conical shell with a number of spikes and protrusions growing on its surface.
Gasplode tend to live in large colonies attached to rocks, where they graze on algae growing on these rocks by scraping them using a radula with an array of extremely strong biometallic teeth. Normally, they rely on their tough shells and their ability to attach to surfaces in a nearly irremovable way for protection. However, should a foe not be deterred by these defenses (or possess means to get around them) - it is likely that the closest Gasplodes to the threat would detach themselves from the substrate, attach to the threat instead and violently and powerfully explode to eliminate the threat or drive it away otherwise. This act of self-sacrifice permits the rest of the colony to survive. This particular quality has gained them a slight degree of infamy - as e accounts exist of divers attaching them to the hulls of enemy vessels as a type of biological naval mines in times of war.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'Gastropod' and 'Explode'.
Origin of Design
Gasplode is based on limpets and limpet mines.
