Sunkyd playfully prances in open fields, the gold patches on its fur glowing in a soft light of their own. When it is happy, the flame on its tail burns brighter, and the glow of the gold patches intensifies.

Biology
Sunkyd is a quadrupedal, mammalian Fire-Type Pokémon resembling a goat kid. Its coat is mainly orange, with a cream underside and luminous patches of a lighter gold upon its forehead, flanks and ears. The patches' luminosity varies in intensity, often in association with its mood. Its short tail is tipped with a flame. Sunkyd have small horns and hooves, both composed of a dense material possessing crystalline qualities.
Sunkyd are browsing herbivores, feeding primarily on leaves, soft shoots and vines. They are playful and intelligent and may be rather inquisitive in nature.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'sun' and 'kid', as in goat kid.
Origin of Design
Sunkyd is based on a goat kid.
Locations
Sunkyd, along with Ennulithe and Jawsea, is one of three starter Pokémon of the Miato region, given away in the Redwood Research Laboratory in Jade Town to new trainers.
