Stettle is a quadrupedal, archosaurid Grass-Type Pokémon resembling a young Stegosaur. Its scales are emerald green in hue with some yellow markings. Its flexible tail is tipped with two spikes which it can use as a weapon. Two parallel rows of leaf buds run along its back. At the base of these leaf buds are electricity-generating organs which can produce a small electric charge as a protective measure against predators.

Stettle are browsing herbivores, feeding on low-growing shrubs and bushes.
