Bird Call is a damage-dealing Flying-type move. Although it appears as a Flying-type move, Bird Call's actual type varies. It is most closely associated with Vocalyre - the only Pokémon that learns it naturally - however, certain other Pokémon can inherit it via breeding.

Description

The mimics the cry of one of its allies. This attack's type varies based on the ally mimiced.

Effects

Bird Call randomly selects one Pokémon from the user's party (including fainted Pokémon) and mimics its cry. It then deals damage of the selected Pokémon's primary type (for example, if a Grass/Poison Pokémon is selected, the move would be of the Grass-type). This move ignores the type-changing effects of abilities such as Normalize or moves such as Electrify. STAB is calculated based on the type chosen by the attack.
