Highly attuned with the rainforests it lives in, Iguyana's camoflage is nearly perfect when it is hunting. In spite of its large mass, its powerful limbs propel it forward at amazing speeds.

Biology

Iguyana is a quadrupedal, robust reptilian Grass/Dragon-Type Pokémon resembling a mix between a large iguana and a dinosaur. Its scales are naturally a mottled dark green with a some darker stripes and a golden underside. Dark brown, almost woodlike scutes adorn its legs. Leafy outgrowths frame its head and its limbs. Along its back runs a ridge of vegetation supporting a few razor-sharp brown spines - primarily used for display. A serrated dewlap, the color of the vegetation ridge, hangs underneath its chin. Iguyanas are omniovorous - feeding on both plant material and smaller Pokémon - and have few natural enemies in the wild save their own kind. While its large mass, spikes and resistances borne of its Dragon-Type qualities provide some measure of minimal defense, Iguyana are not at all defensive creatures - opting instead to rely on their incredible speed (Pound for pound, an Iguyana could outspeed a Ninjask before its speed boost kicks in - by which point it would probably be too late for aforementioned Ninjask) and their attack strength to deliver swift, decisive blows to their opponents.

Name Meaning

A combination of Iguana and Guyana, a South American country known for its rainforests.

Origin of Design

Iguyana is heavily based on larger iguanas. Its anatomy, however, is more closely based on that of dinosaurs.

Locations

Due to their nature as an evolved starter form, Iguyana are not found in the wild.
