Sharclaw, unlike Jawsea, is more adapted to life on land - however, it still prefers to remain near the water. A solitary hunter, its streamlined body allows it to swim quickly in is in pursuit of its victims. The prey is subdued and torn apart by Sharclaw's sharp teeth and claws.

Biology

Sharclaw is a Water-Type Pokémon resembling a shark evolved for a semi-aquatic habitat, now capable of standing and walking about on their fins to a better extent than their previous forms (though their pectoral fins are still significantly more developed than its pelvic fins, making it still a little awkward). Its body is darker-colored than that of Jawsea (though its markings and ventral side remain the same hue). A smaller, second dorsal fin projects from its back and its snout is sharper and has jagged ridges.

The most major change upon Sharclaw's evolution, though, is its fins - which develop finger-like structures tipped with large and wicked claws (as well as some small, jagged ridges of spines). Sharclaw uses these as a weapon of assault to an equal level to that of its powerful bite strength, rendering it an exceptionally powerful predator for its size, eliminating the need for collaboration that its previous form had. Sharclaw prefer to maintain semi-aquatic habitats - such as sandy or rocky beaches - and hunt in water - though they will not hesitate to attack terrestrial creatures that wander too close as well.

Name Meaning

A combination of 'shark' and 'claw'.

Origin of Design

Jawesea is based on a shark, though it displays some qualities of a marine mammal.
