Biology
Spianide is a quadrupedal Poison-Type archosaurian Pokémon resembling a young sauropod. Its scaly body is purple with irregular, blotchy stripe-like markings in a darker purple - except for its underside, which is a muted silver hue.
Spianide are selectively-browsing herbivores, feeding on ground-height and mid-height plants. Their primary protection from would-be predators is the ridge of poisonous spines that runs along their vertebrae. These spines grow longer with age. These act primarily as passive defense - a Spinaide's primary asset in combat is its hardiness and mass - although Spianides have been seen using their poison glands actively as well to their full Toxic extreme.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'spine' and 'cyanide'.
Origin of Design
Spianide is based on a young Amargasaurus.
Locations
Spianide are found in the wooded coastal plains of Route 4, between Tourmaline Town and Malachite City.
