Biology

Valkyrlia is a small avian Fighting and Flying-Type Pokémon with a child-like, humanoid frame. Its pale plumage somewhat resembles a tunic and its casque has grown even further to resemble a winged helmet, with a pair of plumes projecting from it like a crest. Two braid-like structures project from the back of its head. Its legs from the knee down appear to be protected by sheathes of scutes that almost appear to taper to singular points - though thanks to its impeccable sense of balance and the distribution of its body's light weight on these points, it has no issues standing for prolonged periods of time without falling. In motion, Valkyrlia has a dance-like gait supported by the same manner of air-current manipulation ability possessed by its previous form, albeit more powerful and refined, and is often observed to leap and twirl about, floating in mid-air with its feet not quite touching the ground.

Unlike the timid Valts, Valkyrlia are naturally inquisitive creatures, more likely to approach other creatures in a manner that seems almost fearless, - with a dance-like gait involving . These approaches are not entirely uninformed however – Valkyrlia have a sense for the auras of other living creatures (the braid-like structures on their heads may have something to do with this ability as they have been known to shift somewhat when they do so), something that allows them to get some insight into the intentions of an individual before approaching them. These traits have many similarities to those of Kirlia, though the two species are biologically unrelated.

Valkyrlia readily bond with Pokémon and people that leave an impression on them, particularly those skilled in combat. Should the life of Valkyrlia or the individuals with whom it had bonded be seriously threatened, though, its demeanor shifts and it becomes a fierce whirlwind of cutting gusts, not letting up until the threat is driven away or is defeated. Valkyrlia truly driven to desperation have been known to shift their battle cry into a aura-fueled keening that disrupts the life-force of all who hear it, taking their opponents with them.

A combination of valkyrie and Kirlia.

Origin of Design

Valkyrlia was designed to resemble Kirlia broad strokes while having some attributes of a harpy and a valkyrie.

Locations

Valkyrlia can be found in the general vicinity of sheer cliffs, though they tend to travel out further afield than other members of their evolutionary line.
