Biology
Gemineye is a quasi-anthropomorphic, mineralovorous Ghost/Crystal-Type Pokémon. In many ways, it resembles its previous form - its has sharp teeth and claws, its body is dark purple and is studded with various crystals it has consumed. However, where Sableye's ear crests were Gemini posesses two long semi-prehensile tendrils. A ridge of green crystalline spines runs along its back. Many crystals adorn its body - some (like the ones on its shoulders, thighs and chest) are prismatic crystals similar to the ones in its eyes, whereas others are formations of either red (on its left side) or blue (on its right side) crystals. The crystals on the back of its hands are sharpened and spike-like. Gemineye also sports a long tail and two tentacles emerging from its shoulders. These three appendages end with a paddle-like tip sporting large prismatic crystals.
Using its arrays arrays of crystals, Gemineye warps light around itself, allowing it to project the illusion of appearing a short distance away from where it actually is, or appear in multiple places at the same time. This makes it rather difficult to hit - even moves that normally cannot miss may occasionally miss a Gemineye. While their physical attack power remains unchanged, Gemineye's increased access to the manipulation of light allows it to strike its foes from a distance.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'gem', 'eye' and 'gemini' (due to its light displacing powers allowing it to appear at two places in the same time), also alluding to Sableye.
Origin of Design
Gemineye is based on Sableye as well as the Displacer Beasts of the Dungeons and Dragons universe.
Locations
Gemineye evolve from Sableye due to exposure to a Crystalshard, and cannot be found in the wild.
