Because of the shape of its body, Jawsea is somewhat clumsy on land. However, in water, it is quite fast. Jawsea travels in small packs, which allows them to take down prey much larger than they are.

Biology

Jawsea is a Water-Type Pokémon resembling a shark. Its body is covered in placoid scales and is countershaded: dark blue dorsally (adorned with tripe like, lighter blue markings) and pale blue ventrally. They have powerful fins - especially their large and developed pectoral fins - which may serve them as rudders for 'stealthier' swimming powered primarily by their tail, or sometimes for more direct swimming in the manner of a marine mammal or a sea turtle. These fins are powerful enough to allow them to take to the land - though, given their form, they are somewhat clumsy on land.

Jawsea are carnivores, normally feeding on small Water-type Pokémon - though they are known to form small packs for the purpose of taking down larger prey. Their ability to crawl onto land allows them to also hunt from ambush, like a crocodile - but this is not a common behaviour for their kind.

Name Meaning

A combination of 'jaws' and 'sea'.
