Fossil record shows that Scoruption's body structure remained virtually unchanged across millions of years, though its ancestors appear to have at least for a while been aquatic. It keeps its tail perpendicular to the ground at rest, only raising it over its body when displaying or hunting.

Biology
Scoruption is a Fire/Poison-Type Pokémon resembling a scorpion. Much like their previous forms, their carapaces are photosensitive, changing color with exposure to light.
Scoruption are large predators, relying on their physical strength and their powerful claws to subdue their prey more often than not, though they still produce powerful corrosive venom and can deliver deadly stings via the poisonous spikes at the tips of the club-like end of their tail. Unlike their previous form, Scoruption do not keep their stinger tail in the scorpion-characteristic manner, but rather hold it perpendicular to the ground when at rest, generally raising it a more scorpion-like position only when displaying, threatening or hunting.
Scoruption appear to have survived virtually unchanged since ancient times, though evidence of a semi-aquatic or even fully aquatic habitat can be found in some of the fossils recovered. Due to their typing, this is a great mystery of biology - though it may be that Scoruption ancestors had different type affinities than the one their environment adapted them to.
Name Meaning
A combination of 'Scorpion' and 'Corruption'.
Origin of Design
Flarpion are based on Scorpions, though they have some similarities to sea-dwelling arthropods such as crayfish and the extinct Eurypterids or "Sea Scorpions".
Locations
Scoruption thrive in hot environments and are occasionally found in the deep parts of the Jeweled Desert, often in old ravines.
