While Solark's small and cute appearance tends to mislead its enemies into not taking it seriously, it will fight bravely to defend itself if provoked. It absorbs sunlight using the antennae on its head.

Biology

Solark is a small avian Grass/Flying-Type Pokémon resembling a passerine bird - though it possesses some ancient bird-ancestral traits such as wing-claws and its unique five-fingered legs. Its body is covered in yellow-colored plumage, with lighter plumage along the chest and black flight feathers along its wings. A pair of antennae tipped with red baubles emerge from its head.

Solark are diurnally-active and largely arboreal, spending most of their time on trees - though they occasionally drop to the ground to forage for food. They feed primarily on fruit and seeds - including tough-shelled seeds, which it can crack with its beak - and the occasional small Bug-type.

Name Meaning

A combination of 'solar' and 'lark'.

Origin of Design

Solark is based on various passerine birds and derive some traits from ancestral proto-avian maniraptorans.

Locations

Solark can be found on many of the earlier routes and in Quartz Forest.
