Though many Grass-types are known to accelerate and shape plant growth, few have attained the level of mastery of this feat that Wisteriark possess. Should their habitats be damaged, these normally-reclusive Pokémon would emerge from their secret places, dense growth simply parting before them, to drive away the threat and repair what damage it may have caused, making the forest flourish once more.

Biology

Wisteriark is a Grass/Crystal Pokémon Pokémon resembling a predominantly forest green anthropomorphic dinosaur or dragon, roughly the height of a fairly tall human. Leaf-like veined crests running along the top of its head and over its nostrils and eyes, with a ridge of overlapping scales between them are a prominent feature of its dragon-like head, along with the long, luxurious mane of wisteria racemes and leaves that adorns it. Its eyes are golden and surrounded by a darker marking, with a dark stripe running along its cheek below them as well. The head is attached to a long sand flexible, S-curved neck connected to a slender-framed somewhat humanoid body, with a long tail tipped with a 'fan' of sharp-edged crystals. The hands are five-fingered and show distinct segmentation between their joints, also tipped with crystalline claws. Sharp arrays of crystalline blades project from the sides of leafy guard structures encasing the forearms. Similar leafy guard structures grow above its shoulders, on its chest and sides, and on its thighs. Leafy vines wind around its arms and two long vines wrap around its tail in a double-helix pattern (these can be unwound and used for attacks). The legs are digitigrade and bear sharp claws with a crystalline sheen - two on the front, one on the back, and a smaller one close to the 'ankle' joint on the inner side of the leg. Three plant fronds appear to grow on the opposite side to this "ankle talon".

Geometrically-patterned grooves run along the sides of its body, from the point of connection between the head and neck to the tip of the tail - and similar grooves adorn its feet, the palms of its hands and the edges of the leafy structures on its thighs. These are normally contracted and appear as thin dark lines that only slightly stand out against its skin - though they expand slightly and appear to glow when Wisteriark channels energy through the crystals embedded in its body - both the bladelike crystals as well as the smallish round crystalline nodes embedded in its neck and the leaf guard structures on its hands and thighs. These are generally quite radiant with a bluish-purple refraction.

Wisteriarks have six wings primarily composed of long, broad leaves on a crystalline 'stalk' that provides them with a frame. When not in use they are neatly folded against its back, and when in use they flutter rapidly in an almost insect-like manner. Wisteriark may sometimes spread their wings for display purposes or as extra photosynthetic surfaces to soak up sunlight with.

Wisteriark subsist on photosynthesis supplemented with both meat and fruit for additional organic nutrients.

Name Meaning

A modified combination of 'wisteria' and 'monarch'.

Origin of Design

Wisteriark is based on the wisteria plant, various dragons and dinosaurs (with some rather prominent dilophosaurus features) and forest spirits.
