Biology
Onix native to Azure Valley have lost their Ground-type attribute and acquired Crystal-type instead over years of tunneling through the rocks of Azure Valley. Their rocky carapace is smoother and more lustrous than that of their more common cousins and tends to have a banded, blue-and-black surface. Small outgrowths of crystalline material occasionally dot the surface of their carapace and their head has a slightly more jagged look. It is believed that these serve a role in improving the creature's capability to tunnel.
Locations
The Azure Valley subspecies of Onix can be found tunneling through the earth in the cavernous sections of Azure Valley, some of which are indeed tunnels formed by this species.
