Mareep is an official Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is #179 in the National PokéDex.
It is found in Route 1 and the Jade Highlands and has two evolutionary paths in the region of Miato - one is its official evolutionary path ending in Ampharos, and the other is an alternate evolutionary path ending in Blizargali.
Anyone telling you rumors that it's on the lam is pulling the wool over your eyes and is most likely a very baaaaad person. (Well, I feel sheepish!)
