Quartz Forest

Quartz City is a town located in the northern landmass of the Miato Region.

it sits on the edge of Quartz Forest.

Description

Quartz City is a medium-sized city and is a rather colorful place. The streets of Quartz City are paved with a mosaic of polished multicolored stones and flowering trees of various colors line the streets, some inter-grown with street lamps (with the help of Grass-type Pokémon) giving these lamps a unique look. A fountain or two are also present.

Its nature as a city that is just large enough to be convenient but small enough to not be too crowded and its closeness to Quartz Forest made it a spot frequented by artists in search of inspiration - and generations of artists have left their mark on the city. It is thus somewhat of a cultural hotspot holding museums, galleries, theatres, etc.

Places of Interest

Quartz City Observatory

Located at the top of a hill that overlooks the entire city is an observatory that stood there long before it became a city. Though nowadays the scientific work of the observatory is done elsewhere (as Quartz City's growth and subsequent light pollution made it difficult to make good observations of the night sky) the place is preserved as a heritage site. The hill still provides a rather breathtaking panorama of the city and Quartz Forest beyond it.

Quartz City Marketplace

Another preserved heritage site, Quartz City's Marketplace mostly sells art supplies these days - paper, pens, pencils, paints and dyes, fabrics, beads, what have you - but also completed works and miscellaneous items such as jewelery, clothing and assorted crystals, perfumes and herbs. Like the rest of the city, it is a rather colorful place.

Quartz City Gym

The Quartz City Gym has a bit of a psychedelic atmosphere and the puzzle has an astrological theme related to the Lunar Phases. Luna, the Gym Leader, can be found meditating on a round, deep blue rug with a starry pattern and a triangle-patterned green and yellow rim once the puzzle is solved. She will bestow the Star Badge on those challengers who defeat her and her Pokémon - all of which have some association with the moon.
