Sapphire City is a town located in the southern landmass of the Miato Region.
Description
Sapphire City is the oldest extant city of Miato, built on the lush Beryl River delta and sprawling all the way to the ocean. The majority of Sapphire City's architecture is either still the original architecture or architecture built in its image - a somewhat tiered structure rife with stairs, arches, bridges and plants. Water flows throughout the entire city - segments of the river itself crisscross it, and artificial systems of canals and aqueducts constructed for various purposes over the years still carry water throughout the city, even if their role today is more decorative than anything else. The city has a major historic port that is still in use today, with - among other things - ferry routes connecting it to Lapis City, Amethyst City and even Peridot Town, the gateway to the Miato Pokémon League.
